Summer Season Registration Deadline is June 9th

YMCA Youth Sports’ program encourages and promotes healthy and strong kids and is a great start to a lifetime of health and wellness. At the YMCA our values are always in play . . . caring, faith, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Registrations are underway at the South Montgomery County YMCA for Summer youth sports.  The sports to be offered include Volleyball for 2nd  – 9th Grade;  Soccer for ages 3 years – 4th Grade; and Basketball for K-9thgrade. Registration deadline is June 9. Games begin June 28.

At the South Montgomery County YMCA, every child is a winner. The Y is turning sports skills into life skills by offering youth sports programs that combine the YMCA philosophy of fair play, teamwork, and inclusiveness to build healthy spirit, mind and bodies. Y Youth Sports help young people to become better players by emphasizing skill development not competition. Everyone plays and everyone wins at the YMCA. Each athlete is treated as an equal and plays in every game regardless of skill level.

The YMCA is a not-for-profit, volunteer based charitable organization. We strongly encourage parents to be more than spectators by getting involved as volunteer coaches, team parents and officials as well as being your child’s biggest fan. Trainings are available for rookie coaches. If you are interested in volunteering please call Sports Director, 281-367-9622.

In addition to the summer sports league, the Y offers a series of weekly summer sports camps for ages 3 – 13.  The sessions are sport specific and are designed to help develop new skills and enhance current skills. These camps are a great opportunity for kids to try a new sport. Weekly sessions begin June 16.

To register please stop by any of the 3 YMCA location in The Woodlands: 6145 Shadowbend Place, 8100 Ashlane Way or 6464 Creekside Forest Drive. On line registration and information is available at

The YMCA is available to all and strives to turn no one away for inability to pay. Everyone is welcome.
