Watermelon Run For The Fallen 5K Walk/Run/Roll


In 2008, a team of runners ran across America from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery, one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Visit Run For The Fallen for more information.

The purpose of this event is to remember each individual who gave his or her life serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Participants are asked to walk/run/roll a mile in memory of a fallen soldier that your knew or the soldier that will be assigned to you. Each participant will receive a shirt tag with the name of the military member for whom each individual will be walking/running/rolling for.

We host the Watermelon Run For The Fallen event in loving memory of SSG Jeffery Lee Hartley, come Run Walk or Roll with us in his memory. We would love to see you there!

The Watermelon Run For The Fallen 5K Walk/Run/Roll is held annually in Hempstead Texas in the memory of our fallen military. Our mission is to remember all our fallen from Texas. We can not and will not forget our young men/women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

The purpose of the event is to remember each individual from Texas who gave his or her life serving the country in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. Participants will walk, run, or roll in memory of a service member they knew, or a service member can be assigned to them. Each participant will receive a card containing information about his/her military person.
