    Priority Emergency Room

Traveling with a Toddler? Check out these tips…

  • Drive During Nap Time: When we travel five hours to the Dallas area to visit family, my son sleeps nearly half of the trip. This gives my husband and I a few hours off from entertaining and George is bright-eyed and ready to play with family when we arrive.

  • Be CD Ready: Stock the car with nursery rhyme CDs or even audio books. A streaming Pandora can also do the trick if you have a phone and a stereo input.

  • Pack A Goody Bag: Bring a bag of toys and books that you can change out during restroom breaks. I bring items that George hasn’t played with in a while to better keep his interest. They should all be safe for independent play.

  • Comfort: Before leaving make sure the window sun screen is in place. Also, in those hot summer months, check that all parts of the car seat are cool before your little guy gets in.  Metal buckles can burn bare legs and arms.
