The Woodlands Children’s Museum Hosts Magicians June 12

Making Magic at the Museum:

The Woodlands Children’s Museum Hosts Magicians June 12

THE WOODLANDS, TX – May 22, 2014 – The Woodlands Children’s Museum is dedicating a day to magic – filling the schedule with magical learning experiences and exciting feats of illusion.

The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 at the museum located at 4775 West Panther Creek Drive.

“Childhood should be a magical experience,” executive director Angela Colton said. “Our goal is to present events that send children on a journey of discovery – and Magic Day is the perfect opportunity.”

The Magic Day festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. with a 30-minute onstage performance by a local magician, Professor Hughdini, who has provided magical entertainment to audiences in the greater Houston area for more than 30 years.

Professor Hughdini will also perform a second show at noon.

Houston magician Scott Hollingsworth will then amaze his audience with two shows in the afternoon – one beginning at 1 p.m. and the second at 2 p.m.

Hollingsworth, who first became interested in magic at age seven, masterfully blends humor, artistry, and sleight of hand to create a program that captivates and entertains children of all ages.

Children attending Magic Day may also participate in four art projects – making a magic wand, playing with disappearing ink, creating magician hats and exploring a magic science experiment.

The cost of the Magic Day event is included in the cost of museum admission, which is $5 for ages 2 and older. Museum members and children younger than 2 are admitted without charge.

Magic Day is being sponsored by White Glove Destinations, a local travel agency and authorized Disney vacation planner. The company was founded by two moms – Heidi Marlowe and Jenn Whitney — who use their own experiences to help you plan the perfect vacation.
