The South Montgomery County Family YMCA in collaboration with The Rori Christianne Keller Foundation is launching a new project:

Barrier Free Playground: A Place for All to Play

The Challenge

• More than 900 children ages 5-15 in South Montgomery County have sensory or physical disabilities that make it difficult or impossible for them to enjoy a traditional playground.

• With only one barrier-free playground available to all of the South Montgomery County area, there is a shortage of accessible, fun play space for people with physical and sensory disabilities to enjoy.

The Opportunity

A barrier-free playground at the South Montgomery County Family YMCA will provide a play space with universally accessible pathways and surfaces, ramped wheelchair access to the highest platform, swings and equipment with back support, and sensory-rich activities designed for those who are hearing and visually impaired.

The Impact You Can Make

Your generous support will ensure the YMCA is able to provide a playground uniquely designed so all children have the opportunity to play, grow and thrive.
