The Pink 5k: Record Breaking Event
The Pink 5k, Presented by Northside Alfa Romeo FIAT, was a record breaking event on Mother’s Day weekend at Creekside Park in The Woodlands with nearly 600 registered participants!
“It’s wonderful to see so many people come out to support and honor women going through breast cancer…when a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, it impacts the whole family. And that’s what we saw at The Pink 5k—families: husbands, sisters, mothers, daughters and more…it’s empowering to see people uniting for such a powerful cause!” said Erica Johnson, Executive Director of The Breast Cancer Charities of America.
Participants in the fun run not only ran/walked but they also participated in Best Dressed and Top Fundraiser. Best Dressed awards were presented to “Superwoman” Brenda Carter and Team Reviewit for their “Pink Pistols of Hope” costume ensemble.
Top Fundraising team was a tight race with Team Chest Bumps from Pinnacle Point Insurance coming in first place on race day, BARELY inching out Montgomery County Women’s Council of Realtors by only a few dollars come. Top individual fundraiser was awarded to Leah Stanger, of CORE Lending. All together, the event raised over $50,000 for The Breast Cancer Charities of America.
The Pink 5k was presented by Northside Alfa Romeo FIAT of The Woodlands. Additional event sponsors included, Luke’s Locker, Ventura EMS, Villa Sport, AirNow, SpeedPro Imaging, Green Bank, Waste Connections, Reviewit Magazine, LIVING, Brooklyn Bagel, CostCo, StateFarm Insurance-Caley Baillio, Community Impact, Tara Flannery Photography, 99.1 SUNNY, Stori Brie Photography, Erin Garcia Photography, Integrity Comfort Solutions and ConnexionW.
