As Commended Students

THE WOODLANDS – Sixteen students from the Class of 2015 at The John Cooper School have been named Commended Students in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. Head of Upper School Joe Broccoli announced the recognition at an assembly on September 29 and read a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
Commended Students, recognized for their exceptional academic promise, placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. “These young men and women haven been named Commended Students for having demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” said a NMSC representative. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”
Commended Students from The John Cooper School, are Ashri Anurudran, Maci Billiot, Andrew Coleman, Alex Farley, Alexa Frazier, Bridgette Hughes, Haley Kent, Riley Kent, Dawson Klein, Claire Lohn, Alec Mitchell, Federico Portela, Sanjana Ramesh Babu, Paul Reid, Albert Yang and Christopher Zupan.
