Super Summer Sign Up and Healthy Kids Day is April 25th.

Re-Discover the YMCA this summer! The first day of summer vacation is less than 6 weeks away and the South Montgomery County YMCA is gearing up for a fun filled summer. Beginning April 25th on Super Summer Sign Up Day, registration is available for all YMCA Summer Programs including Y Day Camp, Y Youth Sports, Y Swim Lessons, Y Child Care, Sports Camp, Y Teen Camp, Performing Arts and much more. Hurry in! Early sessions fill up quickly. Spend the summer at the YMCA making new friends, exploring new adventures and discovering new opportunities!

Healthy Kids Day and Super Summer Sign Up Day is a free community event on April 25th, 10am – 1pm at the Creekside YMCA. YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day encourages kids to get moving and learning, and families living healthier. Activities include games, entertainment, fitness challenges, health screenings, demonstrations, summer program expo, tours and more. The Creekside Y is located at 6464 Creekside Forest Drive in The Woodlands. The first 300 kids in attendance will receive a special gift.

Summer Day Camp – It’s the Summer to Re-Discover: Summer Day Camp Program will be located at the Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center. Reconnecting kids with nature, the Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center features a 50 foot alpine tower for climbing and challenging your inner self, 30 foot Giant Swing, 12 themed treehouses, 9 colorful authentic tipis, archery, hiking, misting station, outdoor chapel & amphitheater, and a boardwalk system 8 – 20 feet off the ground. Campers, ages 5 – 12, will have the ultimate outdoor experience with mother-nature as the backdrop. Additional activities include canoeing, outdoor education, ga-ga ball, songs and skits, team building, swimming and special events. Each weekly session features a theme and special activity. The YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center is located in Creekside Park Village, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands. For more information call 832-698-1283. New Summer Day Camp Locations for Ages 6 – 12! Camp Piney Woods located at the Branch Crossing YMCA and Camp War Eagle at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Limited space available. For more information call 281.367.YMCA.

Teen Camp – Get Energized, is for teens ages 12 – 15 years. Each week features 2 field trips, field sports, team building and service learning projects. Teens will also enjoy alpine tower challenge course, archery, canoeing, swimming and more. One of the best parts of Teen Camp is meeting other teens from neighboring Ys and coming together for special events.. It’s going to be a great summer as we travel toe vents all over Houston getting Energized! The YMCA Teen Camp is based on site at the South Montgomery County YMCA on Shadowbend Place. Specialty Camp – The Y will be offering specialty camps in addition to their Day Camp Program. Specialty camps will include Mad Science for ages 6 – 12; LEGO Camp for ages 5 – 12; Camp Picasso for ages 6 – 12; Rock’N Rockets Camp for ages 6 – 12; Outdoors Explorers Camp for ages 6 – 12; and Archery Camp for ages 6 – 12. Weekly sessions begins June 8. Most specialty camps are 3 hours in length with the exception of Mad Science Camps. Extended care is available through the regular summer day camp program for all campers enrolled in specialty camp which includes ½ day program, and Pre and Post Camp, 7am – 9am and 4 – 6:30pm.

Y Youth Sports program is designed so that each athlete is provided the opportunity to participate in every game regardless of their skill level. The summer program will include Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball for ages 3 years – 9th Grade. Early registration ends May 25th. The season runs June 27 – August 15.

Summer Sports Camps provide kids, ages 3 – 12, the opportunity to learn new skills and improve current skills. Each session is unique and dynamic with a different sport and drills introduced weekly. The weekly sessions begin June 8. Most Sports Camps sessions run 2 hours daily, Monday – Thursday. Clinics include Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Flag Football. For the pre-schoolers, we will have Tiny Tots Soccer, Basketball, and T-Ball. Tiny Tot clinics meet for 1 hour.

Soccer Camp: The Branch Crossing YMCA will once again host Challenger British Soccer Camp for ages 3 – 14, June 22 – 26 and August 10-14. Register online at challengersports.com. The Shadowbend Y will host the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash Soccer Camp for ages 5 – 12, July 13 – 16. Register online at houstondynamo.com/youthprograms.

Performing Arts Workshops: The summer program is comprised of unique weekly workshops that brings out a child’s creative personality. All students are involved in acting, dancing, singing, props and costuming in a team environment. The workshops meet Monday – Friday, 1:30 – 4:30pm for students K – 6th grade. Each workshop will focus on a different musical production with a live performance every Friday including Pop Diva Week, Frozen, Best of Broadway, Grease, Taylor Swift Week, and Teen Beach Movie Week, The YMCA also has summer ballet classes for ages 2 – 8.

Y Swim Lessons: Learning to swim at the YMCA is more than just stroke development! The YMCA, America’s favorite swim instructor, offers a variety of morning and evening classes for ALL levels and ALL ages including Parent/Child, Pre-School and School-Age. Offered in two week sessions, the first summer session begins June 8th! Saturday classes are also available. Other aquatic programs available include adult swim lessons, private swim lessons, youth swim team, stroke development clinics, swim-float- swim and masters swim. YMCA Swim Lessons will also be offered at the Oak Ridge North City Pool.
