Camp Highlight – Chocolate Summer Camp at Schakolad Chocolate Factory

Are you ready for a Sweet Adventure this Summer?

General Summary: Each Camp Session is 3 consecutive days either mornings from 10am to 12:30pm or afternoons from 2pm to 4:30pm. Children will learn how chocolate transforms from the Cacao Bean to the Chocolate Bar as they prepare to become mini-chocolatiers. They will have the opportunity to use the skills they have learned combined with their own personal creativity to make wonderful chocolate masterpieces that they can take home (if they make it that far!). And, just when you think the day is all cleaned up, we will give them a special dessert…chocolate face painting! This is a super sweet summer camp that will be remembered for a long time to come! Each week will present different themes and molds to make. Call (281) 292-9900 to register.($130/CHILD)

Day 1: A journey through the making of a chocolate bar, from cacao bean to bar. Handling the chocolate spatula for molding, molding flat shapes (pizza slice and other shapes of their choice), writing and decorating with colored chocolate, molding their initials and wrapping it up for home enjoyment.

Day 2: The magic of making 3 dimensional chocolate shapes will intrigue the most inquisitive minds! They will learn how to make a balanced 3-D mold, and decorate. A choice of Mr. Potato Head, a chocolate 3-dimensional house, or a high heel shoe in chocolate will be up to each chocolatier to make according to their imagination.

Day 3: Dipping into decadence with Oreo cookies, pretzels, potatoe chips, and making their own chocolate cup cluster creations using decorative sprinkles, colored chocolate, mini m&m’s, and drizzling with MORE chocolate!
Children take their creations home to enjoy with their family! Yuummmm…

About Schakolad

Schakolad (pronounced shaq-oh-LAD) – a combination of “Schaked” and “Chocolate” – is a name associated with three generations of chocolate making. Baruch Schaked, co-founder of Schakolad, has been a chocolate maker since 1969. He began his career as a chocolatier in Argentina while working for his father-in-law, Gustavo Bar, who was the owner of one of South America`s largest chocolate factories.

Mr. Schaked traveled extensively throughout Europe to participate in courses and seminars at prestigious schools where he mastered the art of chocolate making. His education and passion paid off in the form of numerous first place awards for his scrumptious, handmade truffles at the world renowned Fontainebleau Chocolate Festival.

And, that is just the beginning of the story.

The Schaked`s chocolate adventure really got started when Baruch Schaked announced that he was selling his chocolate shop in South Florida in order to retire. His son, Edgar, determined to keep the family`s passion alive, scrapped his engineering career to continue the family legacy. In 1995, the first Schakolad Chocolate Factory opened in Winter Park, Florida. In 1999, Schakolad began franchising their unique system, creating national and international awareness as the producers of fine quality chocolates using only the highest quality ingredients.

Although recognition is spreading, Schakolad is determined to stay true to the nostalgia and personal service of the corner family owned chocolateria by making their chocolates fresh, on premises, at each location.
