Art at The Woodlands Children’s Museum: State of the Art Exhibit

The Woodlands, TX – July 18, 2014 — The Woodlands Children’s Museum has turned its walls into an art gallery – displaying “State of the Art,” a touring collection of art by children.

The exhibit has traveled the nation as part of the International VSA Festival. VSA, the international organization on arts and disability and the CVS/Caremark “All Kids Can” program join together each year to encourage inclusive arts education and provide increased public awareness of the arts in the lives of young people with disabilities.

The community will be able to enjoy the creativity and beauty expressed by 51 student artists, one from each state and the District of Columbia, chosen from 5,500 submissions.

Angela Colton, executive director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, said that hosting the exhibit has been an honor.

“The art has been an inspiration to all of our visitors,” she added. “It’s a wonderful exhibit, not just because of the talent on display but also the message behind it.”

The exhibit is just one of several fun and educational exhibits at The Woodlands Children’s Museum.

All activities are included in the cost of admission, which is $5 per person 2 years and older. There is no charge for children under 2 and museum members. Recommended for ages 7 years and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands, 77381, the museum has a full calendar of exciting activities. For museum hours and more information, visit www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org or call 281-465-0955.
