Nanotechnology takes the stage on Wednesday, April 19

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Children’s Museum will put science in the spotlight during its NanoDays 2017.

The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the museum located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280 in The Woodlands.

The museum is partnering with the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network, a national community of researchers and science educators dedicated to fostering public awareness, engagement and understanding of nanoscale science, engineering and technology.

“This is a big event about science in its absolutely smallest form,” the museum’s executive director, Angela Colton, said. “NanoDays is a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering, and its potential impact on the future.”

Around the United States, scientists are joining with museums and other informal education organizations to create unique learning experiences, she said.

At The Woodlands Children’s Museum, a number of fun activities are planned to pique young imaginations as the children study about matter on the smallest possible scale of atoms and molecules, including demonstrations of different, unexpected properties of materials at the nanoscale.

The event is included in the cost of admission, which is $6 per person 1 year and older. The museum is recommended for ages 7 and under.
